Envision Healthcare Announces Deployment of Clinicians to New York’s Mount Sinai Health System

Summary

Envision Healthcare announced that it has started to deploy an expected 130 clinicians to Mount Sinai Health System as COVID-19 cases sharply increase in New York City.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Envision Healthcare announced today that it has started to deploy an expected 130 clinicians to Mount Sinai Health System as COVID-19 cases sharply increase in New York City. The deployed clinicians include anesthesiologists and certified registered nurse anesthetists. Envision will continue to make resources available and deploy clinicians to hot spots across the country and assist hospitals that need additional resources to care for the surge in COVID-19 patients.

“Our first job during this crisis is caring for patients,” said Jim Rechtin, President and Chief Executive Officer of Envision Healthcare. “Cases in New York continue to climb, and we are taking action to reduce the unprecedented stress on resources at Mount Sinai. Our clinicians are fighting on the frontlines and risking their own health to care for patients wherever and whenever they are needed. We will get through the COVID-19 crisis thanks to their heroic actions.”

The clinical professionals involved in this effort come from practices across the United States. These Envision clinicians have crucial skills and experience that will support COVID-19 patient treatment in the intensive care unit, strengthening Mount Sinai’s care delivery. Additional efforts are underway to deploy team members and provide extra support in communities throughout the tri-state area.

Envision continues to support its hospital and health system partners across the nation who are faced with rising patient volumes and guide efforts to contain and mitigate the spread of COVID-19.
